New Angels Camp Family Medical Center

The Mark Twain Medical Center Foundation has been key in the fund raising success leading to this milestone. The new center at the intersection of Main Street and Stanislaus Road is a relocation/expansion of Mark Twain Medical Center's (MTMC) existing Family Medical Center in Angels Camp. The building will provide expanded space for Primary Care Services and include a Womens Health Center.

Additional space will allow for expanded specialty services, diagnostic imaging and lab services, state-of-the-art medical equipment and technology. The facility will also feature a Community Education Center. Upon completion, the facility will support MTMC physician recruitment by accommodating numerous new primary and specialty physicians over the first four years.

The Foundation's capital campaign has raised $2.3 million for the new facility. Betty Higgins and her late husband Sam of Angels Camp recently put the campaign over the top with their gift of $300,000.

In addition to several generous benefactors like the Higgins Family, every member of the community will have opportunities to put their own personal mark on the project. The Foundation is planning a campaign to remember or pay tribute to loved ones through purchase of pathway bricks, park benches and other items enhancing the center's grounds.

Watch for details of the community celebration currently being planned by the Foundation – it's a Barn Raising for the new facility.
